Please edit this work for me...instruction included with the drafted work first and instruction below.
Dear Mr. Smith
Based on our conversation last week a program can be tailored for your community for people in the neighborhood to learn about how they can lead more environmentally friendly lives. This program is well known as a formal needs assessment which in fact is carried out when there is need to investigate what is going on, and there is need to take some time so that information is gathered as well as other ideas before putting together a plan of what should be done. The main purpose is to come clean and identify the programs and needs that are expected in the directors program.
To achiever all your goals I strongly support carrying out a formal needs assessment the main reason being that it will help achieve all your goals. The assessment strategies maybe quick in a way and may need basic skills to carry for instance face to face interviews with employees or performance data review on how building a greener neighborhood can be achieved. There are quite some ways that can be used while conducting a formal needs assessment. For example, a survey accompanied with an interview may be done with the intention of determining how residents feel about a greener neighborhood and what benefits they would be receiving.
Some of the steps that can be completed while carrying out the survey are. First is the identification of the objective of the survey of what one requires to know. The next step which is the second one is designing the survey before the survey process is carried for example deciding on what is to be included in the research (Albee, Swann, Mihalko, & McKinney, 2005). By doing this, there are quite some advantages that are coming as a result of carrying out such assessment. To begin with, such methodology helps in identifying issues to do with performance that can be remedied by introduction, practice, and inclusion of measurable and specific skills and knowledge that are environmental friendly (Albee, Swann, Mihalko, & McKinney, 2005).
The assessment comes up with a strategic review of the future needs of an environment and what can be done to an environment to ensure that energy use is reduced. The assessment is capable of providing and ongoing support with an intention of a decision on how energy can be reduced in homes and how protection can be given to the environment. These methods determines the full spectrum of needs that are required in coming with a better information of an environment and matters to do with energy reduction at homes.
Even though a formal assessment is advantageous I am obligated to inform of a few disadvantages that are accompanied by it, for instance, formal assessment is expensive regarding its implementation which can make it labor intensive. Similarly, there are some processes that are incurred for it to be conducted which are confirming issues and establishment for the planning team which can be time-consuming (Brys et al. 2016). Similarly, some of the disadvantages of off formal assessment that should be understood are gathering and reporting of data, the creation of a report from amalgamated data which are all time-consuming. I hope you have found all this information useful and I look forward to hearing from you soon
Yours faithfully,
Instructions: Needs Assessment
Scenario
You have been hired to develop a program for a small community organization. The organization's director wants a program for people in the neighbourhood to learn about how they can lead more environmentally friendly lives. The director envisions a program that provides practical information, hands-on practice, and ongoing support to participants so they can make decisions about reducing their energy use at home, producing their own food, reducing their reliance on personal vehicles, and building a greener neighbourhood.
The organization has a small budget for this project, most of which is based on the funding they've received from the "Green Living Now" grant. The granting agency wants to clearly see how the money has been used to make measurable changes in the community.
It is spring now, and you are told that the program should be offered within two months because attendance will be poor during the summer holiday season.
You notice as you walk around the neighbourhood that many houses appear to have vegetable gardens. You also notice the local farmers' market is a popular event each week. Many people from the neighbourhood walk or ride their bikes to visit the vendors.
Your Task
Wrte a letter to the program director either recommending for or against conducting a formal needs assessment. Justify your recommendation. If you are recommending the needs assessment, describe how it would be conducted. If you are not recommending the needs assessment, describe how you would address the director's questions about your decision.
