CASE STUDY: New Stadium for Sekhukhune Sakhukhune district is located in Limpopo province, the northem part of South Africa. It is of area of about 19 500 km most of which is rural areas. It lies in north west of Mpumalanga and the south of Limpopo Sekhukhune is located far away from major towns in the region. It is estimated that only about 12percent of Sekhukhune population live in urban areas. The dosest stadium is in a rown Glometers away from Sekhukhune. Hence, during sporting occasions, people from Sekhukhune have to travel far to gain access to the stadium. Hence, the provincial government decided to give Sekhukhune district a stadium. This new facility will improve sports at Sekhukhune district and create job opportunities for unemployed people around Sekhukhune district will help remove youhs from the streets and increase economic activities in Sekhukhune The proposed site for the development project is 5500 square meters. ABC Construction Co Limited was awarded the contact for the project. The proposed stadium is located in Ga-Maristane vilage in Sekhukhune. The architectural design include solar panels to reduce the cost of electricity changing rooms for players, three conference rooms and parking bay for participants and supporters. Objective of the project Buid a 5000 seater stadium that will host sports events, entertainment, commercial events, self-improving conferences and seminars ABC will get a bonus of R100000 from the mayor if they finish the project in 120 days .
