Exercise: What is Your Preferred Conflict-Handling Style? You are a manager of three separate small departments of a large customer-service organization. You decide to have a lunch meeting and you invite all employees from the three departments. Many of these employees don't know one another very well. You are confident this is going to be a good way to get everyone together. Once the meeting begins, you walk around talking to people. You notice that two employees (from different departments) are engaged in what looks to be a pretty serious discussion. You approach and try to find out what they are talking about. You didn't think these two even knew each other. You find out from another person also watching the discussion that these two not only know each other, they don't like each other.
