assisting with biosecurity risk analyses and policy reviews by researching, collating and analysing information from scientific literature about plant pests and diseases undertaking technical assessments to support the preparation of risk assessment and policy documents to assist with gaining and maintaining export market access for Australian plant products drafting evidence-based technical advice policy documents, technical reports, official briefings and various forms of correspondence for a range of internal and external stakeholders engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, including departmental staff, technical experts and industry.

Mandatory qualifications A tertiary qualification in a relevant science discipline (e.g. plant pathology, entomology, plant biosecurity or general biological, agricultural or environmental science) is mandatory.
