Introduction

Several lives were affected by the pandemic that uncontrollably spread from the previous year until now. The impact of this is apparent throughout the world especially on developing countries like the PhilIppines. Our countrys economy dropped significantly as the number of cases each day increased. Also, various departments experienced difficulty in sustaining their part in keeping the countrys economy from complete loss. One of these is the education sector that made lots of adjustments and changes. But despite their efforts, more than 50% of students still find it difficult to adapt to this kind of learning setup. Too much screen exposure, inappropriate studying environment, unstable Internet connection and insufficient school supplies are just some of the major problems and sentiments students have today. On the other hand, the mental health of the students are also at stake as they became overwhelmed by numerous requirements from different classes. The requirements that the students receive might be similar when having face-to-face classes, but everyone is still trying to cope up with the sudden changes the pandemic has caused. Reading the aforementioned statements only proves that online setup permits us to continue studying but the consequence is worse than what was expected.

According to an article by the World Trade Organization (2020), the world trade is expected to fall from 13%-32% due to this pandemic. The expected recovery of the said drop is unforeseeable in 2021 due to continuous increase in rate everyday. The effectiveness of implemented policies is considered as a huge factor in the recovery of the trade sector of the world. As a country that depends on global trade, our country also experienced a huge drop in the economy. The flow of money inside and outside the country decreased significantly as the global pandemic spread. Unlike before, mandated health protocols must be observed at all times resulting in stricter policies and limited transactions. A survey conducted by (Sanchez, 2020) shows that 65% of respondents believe that the national economy is affected by the pandemic due to limited employment. This case is also observable in some areas of health, media, and the economy itself. Consequently, the pandemic has changed the manner in which individuals work, interact, study, and live in general. But humanity knows that the global health emergency should not stop students from learning and eventually offer an education without borders. That is where the concept of remote learning rooted from and is now seen not only in the Philippines, but across the globe.

This study is conducted to determine the perception and learning experience of students regarding online classes. Determining their perception and evaluating their personal thoughts would help the government and the educational sector (both public and private), in stimulating solutions that will ease the students problems - especially those who need assistance. Assuring that each and every one student, not only of Malayan Colleges Mindanao, maintains good physical and mental health is a must. The results from the present study will pave more understanding on how remote learning took place and would then imply suggestions to better the quality of education even in this set up. The objective is to convey a message where the faculty staff and students will never be left behind.
