On Monday February 3, 2025, Grubhub announced that there was a data breach in its systems. The names, email addresses, phone numbers, and partial card details were accessed for a number of drivers, and customers. This breach also affected the company's, Grubhub Campus Dining Services, which allows students to use their dining swipes to order on the platform. The hackers were able to access the information through a third-party service provider.

Luckily enough Grubhub caught the breach before any more data was able to be accessed such as bank account information, or social security numbers. Technology is growing at a rapid pace in today's time, meaning more data will be available than ever before. Artificial Intelligence is growing rapidly as well, meaning more vulnerabilities for hackers to access networks. There will need to be much more network security systems implemented to minimize the chances of a cybersecurity attack. I believe there will be challenges along the way as there are A.I programs that can literally write code for you, I also believe with the right knowledge and teams in place there will be new innovations to help protect our data.
