Problem 1 (20 Marks) For each example, draw three indifference curves that represent the given preferences. If precise numbers are not given in the question, you are free to provide me with any set of indifference curves that would t the description. Please also show the direction of increasing utility. (a) Anna loves listening to the Hamilton soundtrack. She never gets tired of it! She also loves and never gets tired of spending time with her room-mates. If she is being honest, though, she always likes her Hamilton time a bit more than her room- mate hangouts, and so is always willing to sacrice 3 minutes of room-mate time as long as she gets at least 2 more minutes of Hamilton time. (b) There are few things Ben loves more than milk and cookies. However, he is very strict about the ratio of milk to cookie: for every cookie he eats, he uses exactly 0.25 glasses of milk. Any other ratio is completely unacceptable. (c) One of Claire's hobbies is keeping up with US politics. That being said, it can start to get a bit old after a while - each additional article she reads about the upcoming election isn't quite as thrilling as the one before. Her other hobby is playing tennis, but the same thing applies: while it will never stop being fun, it's the rst few games that bring her the most satisfaction. (e) Dan loves to binge watch two shows on Netix: The Witcher and Cobra Kai. He gets enjoyment from watching any amount of either show.
