Many projects fail due to lack of change control. As discussed earlier in the course, identifying and documenting a clear scope is critical for a project, but controlling and managing to that scope is just as important. It is often difficult for project managers to adhere to the scope when stakeholders add pressure along the way to adjust the scope. This is called scope creep.
