PLEASE HELP, my kid is taking a project management class and was assigned this, I know nothing about this so I've resorted to using this site for help. Below is the instructions provided by his teacher along with screenshots for both parts in his online textbook. This is due for him by March nd thank you to anyone that can help me out!!
PART A DIRECTIONS: Project Kickoff.
Task: Create all of the PowerPoint Slides as Requested HAVING ONLY READ THROUGH PART A You are creating
these slides to give to your boss, who will then present these slides to the client.
In this last week, you may go back to prior material presented in this course. You may use PM BOK, the text, PMI.org, or
any other internet resources that help you format this presentation. I am your manager, and I have asked you to put
together a PowerPoint Presentation to give to our client. You are the assigned Project Manager, but I am going to
present this initial plan to our customer before you are introduced to them. Use the scenario I give you to create the
slides.
Create a PowerPoint Presentation format the client requires PowerPoint, so no other format acceptable You
are LIMITED TO slides in total. Do not crowd information on the slide, and do not fill with lots of words. Be
concise, yet effective.
Slide : Title of Project
Your Name as Project Manager
Slide : Description of Project
Slide : Project Stakeholders in a table or other professional format
Slide : Communication Plan in a table or other professional format using Word
Slide : Major Project Milestones with dates
Slide : Project Risks put in a professional format or a table
Slide : Metrics Slide note that you have not yet started your project, so this is just to demonstrate the report format
that the client will receive each month In other words, you are making a SAMPLE METRICS slide that shows the key
project measurements.
Slide : Project Change Management Process describe the process to manage changes
Slide : Project Acceptance Criteria what has to happen so that the client will sign off that this project is complete
You will not actually present this to the client, you are providing this to me so I can present it to our client.
Once you are finished with your set of slides, submit them. Then, move on to Part B of this project.
PART B DIRECTIONS: Lessons Learned
The client liked your presentation and your methods and slides were used for the entire project. HOWEVER, your project
did not go as planned. Your manager asked you to come into her office and discuss what happened, how you responded
in terms of fixing issues, and how it impacted the project. Read Part B thoroughly and then read about the things that
happened.
Create a PowerPoint Slide with an UPDATED RISK SLIDE outlining the actual risks that happened and the impact
on the project. In other words, you will be turning your slide project Risks into a Lessons Learned slide where you
discuss what happened in reality the things listed and how you responded and what you should have done differently
for 'next time'.
The risksthings that happened are listed at the end of the Part B reading. You are to assume those things happened
and address them on an updated risk slide. Then, submit the updated risk slide.
Here is an unrelated caseexample I made up that might help you think this through:
As an example, you may have missed identifying a risk for FOOD POISONING. What you found is that there were
reports of illness at the end of the event. As a result, you have learned and will do the following for all future events:
Monitor transport of food from contractor venue to the event to ensure proper safety and sanitation
Personally review and inspect the food storage preevent to ensure that everything is kept at required hot or cold
temperatures
Add money to the budget to have a food inspector paid on contract to ensure food preparation and storage
adheres to all standards.
