Youre Head of Research for Grocery Works, a small chain of grocery stores in the north suburbs. You need to do research and collect data on your target market. For this activity, your classmates are your target market.

1. In groups of 2-3, create a survey of 10-12 questions that could be used to gather information on your target markets opinions on grocery stores. Possible questions could include: basic demographics (age, marital status and family size); food preferences and attitudes on grocery store layouts. Use your imagination and create a survey that will yield valuable information.

2. Individually, try out your survey by interviewing the rest of your classmates on your groups survey questions. Once youve collected all the responses, write at least one paragraph on your survey results. Which question(s) and answers did you find the most helpful in getting to know your target market? Were there any surprise answers or were the answers as you expected?
