You have several patients with similar symptoms. Your team decides to test out three different medical treatments on the patients; one treatment plan for each patient. Data is collected on the patients as they go through and complete their treatments. One piece of data is the length of time it took for the patients to recover. Why can we not assume that the treatment which took the least amount of time to work (have the patient recover) is the best treatment among the three? What type of test can be used to see if the mean recovery times for patients are significantly different? What other factors should be considered? What can be said about sample sizes?
