Referee phone call

For this part of the assessment, you will record yourself making a phone call to a referee to check references provided by a tenant. Your tenant is Mindy Harris. There is what you know about her from her application:

Mindy works at her family's fruit store and has worked there for 18 months since finishing school. She studies part-time at TAFE doing a Horticulture course. She has one dog that she would like to keep with her. She is a member of the local netball club. Her referees are Jane Dodge who is the captain of the netball team and Rebekah Calistino who is a long term family friend. You should phone both referees and interview them about Mindy's application as a tenant. You should demonstrate that you are able to:

• Greet the referee professionally
• Request confirmation of their knowledge of and relationship with the tenant
• Seek information about the suitability of the tenant for a rental property
• Write notes about the phone call with the referee and your recommendation based on the call

Your assessor will play the part of the referee for this task.
