Monica is the other director of the company, and she is very busy with her other businesses, so is not often involved in the day-to-day running of the company with Jeff. She has not looked at any financial statements or accounts for a number of years, trusting Jeff to do this. She knew the company was in financial difficulty, but was hoping everything would work out okay. So she continued to seek small loans for the company. As soon as she realised that insolvency was inevitable, she has done everything she can to minimise any harm, including consulting Adam, an insolvency practitioner for advice; voicing her concerns with Jeff, and preventing any further credit from being obtained by the company.
