please post a 2-3 sentence response to the following discussion:
Stakeholder analysis is an important tool that can help a project manager determine the scope of a project and what stakeholders are looking for in this project. The best way to engage stakeholders is to be transparent and honest. The goal of analyzing stakeholders is to determine what the desired outcome is and to negotiate with each stakeholder to have their input in the project. If the PM does not share the interests of other stakeholders, it can make the project fail or cause tension.
PM sometimes fail to conduct an effective stakeholder analysis because they are focused on the project itself and doing an analysis can take an extended amount of time.
Example 1: One example would be if the federal government gives funding to the project but requires certain implementations or tasks to completed with the money, but the project does not fulfill those. The federal government is a stakeholder and can take action for the misuse of funds.
Example 2: A CEO of a company is expecting a project to cost the company money by implementing an upgrade that will increase the efficiency of operations over time by 30%. Over time the company will break even and begin profiting from the project in 5 years. The final outcome of the project only increases efficiency 10% extending the negative revenue gain to 15 years. The poor results of the project may cause people their jobs because the PM didn't consider the CEO's expectations.
