1)Health care administrators and policy makers can use various measures of health statuses and service utilizations to evaluate the sufficiency and effectiveness of existing programs, planning new strategies, measuring different forms of progress, and discontinue ineffective services. An example that can be used is the (PPHF) Prevention and Public Health Fund from the Disease Prevention under the Affordable Care Act. Many programs are created and funded to establish and evaluate the effectiveness to the individuals receiving the help and how it could help them and others alike. If for say a program or service is not doing well or not used by many, it could be discontinued and a new program could be created for a larger group of individuals who qualify and the funding can be used towards the program. Administrators and policy makers can use doctor visits, dental visits, nights spent in hospitals, prescription medications, and many more to help evaluate what needs to be fixed and or continued to help their policy holders.

2)Measures of utilization can be used to determine which individuals in a population group receive certain types of medical services, which do not receive services, and why. A healthcare provider can find out the extent to which its services are used. By pinpointing health problems in certain well-defined groups, appropriate interventions and new policy initiatives can be deployed in the most effective manner. for instance, Health status assessment and service utilization can be used to assess the utilization of outpatient services to identify trends and variations in utilizing the facility and identify the need for more services and implement policies. Further, an assessment of service utilization among residents in remote and hilly areas can be done to assess the utilization of services and plan necessary care services.

3)With the use of health status and service utilization, healthcare administrators alongside policymakers use the correlating services in order to efficiently service a population. The benefits of measuring these service utilizations come down to being able to give administrators and policymakers an idea of who is using medical services and who is not. This can be done statistically or by carefully perceiving the changes in the population with time. Health status is not only based on the physicalities of health but more so being able to incorporate a mental and well-being state as well as physical health. The holistic view of health includes physical, mental, spiritual, and social health so it is important to maintain all aspects of health. Service utilization allows the needs of the patients of that specific community to be tended to by making sure that they are using their services and if not, for removal to take place in order to keep up with the population's changing needs. An example of this is the Prevention and Public Health Fund(PPHF). PPHF is under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and it is the first mandatory funding stream used to improve the entire nation's public health. This information can then forward on to the policy makers for the removal of any services that no are longer positively boosting health status, and potentially adding new services that accomadate to the population in need. A key factor is knowing how to accomadate to your population and how these changes to policies can positively impact the public's health. With this being said, there is appropriate funding to necessary services and cuts to those services no longer benefiting the community. These PPHF assists healthcare administrators and policy makers in coming up with appropriate, preventive, and affordable initiatives for the constant changing public.
