Please provide which option you will select for the below from below article?

our name is Chris Avalon. You are the Plant Manager designate for the Fitzhugh Manufacturing Plant. The plant is scheduled to start-up in about 9 months. The plant will produce sealed "maintenance-free" batteries for trucks and cars. It uses up-to-date but traditional manufacturing equipment to do: casing and top plastic injection molding, lead oxide melting and plate formation, battery assembly and testing, acid filling and charging, material reclaim, final assembly and packing, and warehousing and shipping. Eventually, the plant will employ more than 300 people.

You are now meeting with the individuals that have been appointed to the top management level in the new plant. The meetings are scheduled for several days for the purpose of building communication among the plant management group and to work out the goals, objectives, and procedures that will be used to manage the plant. In a previous session, you and your managers decided to organize the workers in the plant according to "groups". Right now, you are in the process of working out the responsibilities that each workgroup might be expected to carry out. The assumption in this meeting is that you are working out responsibilities for the groups when they are mature ... that is, when they have had sufficient and reasonable time to

learn to carry out their designated responsibilities.

In examining this issue, your meeting has developed a preliminary list of responsibilities or "roles" that must be carried out if a work group is to function. You recognize that this list is not exhaustive, but it's a good place to begin discussion.

The issue is whether the work group itself should be charged with the responsibility of assuming the "role", or whether the management (actually, a representative of management) should have that responsibility. Some of the people in the meeting are arguing that your plant should have more "participation", because "...other companies and cultures have proven that it can work". But when you examine specific roles and responsibilities, there is quite a bit of disagreement as to whether the work group should do it, or whether some representative of management should do it. In your meeting, you are trying to come to some agreement on these questions.

On the next page is the list of "roles" or "responsibilities" that have been developed. Take a few minutes and indicate whether you think the work group should perform that role, or whether that role should be performed by someone outside of the work group, ... some representative of management
