6:01pm Chapter 11 "50% of organizations are using information technology in developing and administering rewards programs, and they suggest that two major goals ar the reduction of administration costs and time." Johnson, Carlson & Kavanagh, 2021) Receiving recognition or an award for fulfilling all your job requirements is probably one of the best feelings an employee can experience. Sustaining rewards program in the organization motivates employees to work harder than usual to increase their performance in the company and earn financial awards. These awards are separate from their actual salary: anything that involves monetary rewards will catch employees'attention Attraction and retention awards are also being embraced in the rewards program to allure future employees to the company. The program has the ability to convince current workers to remain with the organization because it will benefit them to produce more sales and obtain progress within the company. This plan of action is handed one-time in the form of cash, stock options, or benefits. The primary goal is to sustain a one-time cost that does not lead to the base pay. (Johnson, Carlson & Kavanagh, 2021) Recognition programs are often incorporated in the reward programs, however they do obtain a slight difference. The distinction between the two programs is that recognition awards are mostly implemented for psychological benefits, which helps the company maintain the rewards at a low cost or at no cost, while rewards are at a higher cost since it involves actual financial rewards. Even though these programs are already included in the compensation system, it is important that these procedures are cohesive, so employees can be updated with messages that communicate the value of the organization and the behaviours it desires.
