3. Finally, what wouldyou doin this caseand why if you found yourself in the position ofKevin. Why?Is it morally wrong of Tom to ask Kevin not to call for help? Why or why not?Can you, again from an egoistic perspective, support the opposite decision in terms of what you would do if you were Kevin? Guidelines to Follow:

The Individual Assignment is a case analysis written in an essay format. This paper is worth 10% of your final grade.I am not too picking on the style the paper is created in, but Ihave a preference for APA.

For information on APA, Purdue University has a nice tutorial at:http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/

I will be looking for the following criteria to be met:

1)Thatthe paperdoes not exceed 5 double spaced pagesand it is at least aminimum of 3 pages long, not counting cover or reference pages.

Youressay should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. APA recommends using 12 pt. Times New Roman font. You will submit the paper in Sakai in an electronic format.

2)Itshould have a cover page with a title, your name and course number on it.

3)Anabstract is not required.

4)Areference page is, andthe proper use of references throughout the paper is also required. Pleaseuse our reading to support your perspective. If you wish to quote something directly from the reading, please use the simple format of putting the authors last name, year and page number in parenthesis after the quotation and before the period:example Philosophy is wonderful (Author, 2015, p1). Make sure that you also put the detailed reference in the Reference section.

5)Thethree question listed above must be addressed, but please do not just list question numbers and respond. You should build your responses to these questions in the body of your paper without rehashing the questions. In concise and complete sentences (using essay format), explain your ethical reasoning! To help you form your ethical conclusion, you MUST utilizethe theory ofethical egoism. For example, you may say I came to this conclusion by utilizing the theory of ethical egoism and explain (in detail) how that theory applies.Cite the source where the theory information came from.Write from the perspective that your reader has no idea what egoism is, so you will need to educate before you build your arguments for addressing the situations at hand.

Don't Help Me

Tom is a sophomore at a prestigious college. He comes from a low-income household and is the first member of his family to attend college. During his freshman year, Tom did well academically and socially, though he sometimes consumed alcohol at parties, and he was twice cited by the school for drinking in the dorms. Going into his sophomore year, Tom alreadyhad two strikes: One more citation for underage drinking on school property and he would lose his scholarship.

During the semester, Tom and his friend Kevin are drinking at a party in a university-owned apartment. Tom, dancing merrily, accidentally smashes a glass bottle and badly cuts his hand. Bleeding profusely, Tom begins to feel lightheaded and wobbly. Concerned for his friend and beginning to panic, Kevin reaches for his phone to call for help. But Tom pleads,Justbandage me up as best you canif you call for help the school will find out Ive been drinking and Ill lose my scholarship! Illgo to the health center tomorrow morning and everything will be fine.

Kevin is uneasy with this plan. Hes not trained to clean and bandage a wound and doesnt want to be responsible for Tomsustaining a serious, permanent injury. On the other hand, Tom insiststhat the decision to seek help is not Kevins to make.Tom says thathes willing to risk his health in order to avoid getting kicked out of school and compromising his future. Bycalling an ambulance, Kevin might be changing Toms life forever
