Please revise the email below that informs the receiver about a necessary payment delay. To: tomtrassati@ westar.org CC. Subject: Frustrated Beyond Belief Dear Mr. Tom Trasatti: I was absolutely godsmacked to receive your billing, copy enclosed, for $98,010. Your bid, copy also enclosed, was for $85,000. Over the phone, we discussed your finding that additional foundation work was necessary, and that a steeper roof pitch was required by last month's change in the California state building code. When you mentioned these additional requirements and costs, however, you gave me no clue whatsoever, not even the slightest inkling, that these extra charges would amount to anywhere near the astounding figure of $13,010. As a building contractor, you do excellent work, and I'm not disputing the $13,010 charge. But there are two things we must straighten out, buddy: First any contracts in the future MUST BE WRITTEN BEFORE WORK IS STARTED. I can't take these huge surprises. Second, we don't have the cash to pay the entire billing now. The additional $13,010 will have to be spread over the next six months. We will be working together in the future, but remember no more oral agreements, only written contracts. My trust in your integrity has been thrown out the window.
