There is an (IOA) company and has its own factory somewhere. There are two suppliers, A and B. IOA has determined these performance dimensions for suppliers to evaluate quality, on-time, cost production. The management of IOA has determined the importance weights of on-time(0.3), quality (0.5), and cost (0.2) production.

The table is to show that the IOA company, the company manager has rated ratings (1 = poor to 5 excellent) the performance of suppliers A and B on these three dimensions.

(a1) By using the weighted score evaluation system to calculate the weighted average performance of supplier A and supplier B, and determine the best supplier based on the total performance score.

(a2) IOA can purchase 80,000 units of accessories from supplier A or supplier B. From supplier A, it takes 16 days to transport the accessories by rail at a cost of $1,600. Starting from supplier B, it takes 4 days to use the truck, and the cost is $3,500 dollars. The holding cost of the accessories is $0.25 per year, and there will be holding costs during the delivery process. Assume that there are 250 working days per year.

Calculate the total cost of purchasing accessories from supplier A and supplier B, and determine the best supplier based on the total cost (hint: calculate the daily holding cost first - show your calculation steps)

(a3) From the finding in Q (1) and (2) pick either supplier A or Supplier B as your own selection and identify one potential supply chain risk of your choice, and suggest one tactic for risk mitigation.

(a4) In order to perform lean Manufacturing, 7 wastes(called 7 Mudas in Japanese) must be identified and removed. As the operations manager of IOA, you personally think.
