Please solve it with the numbers and all the calculations :)
The figure shows a two-lane suspension bridge with one centrally placed concrete tower.
The bridge deck is built of reinforced concreteconcrete with a self-weight of 25 kN/m3, thickness 400 mm and two traffic lanes of 3.5 m.
There is one suspension cableeach side of the bridge track and the largest arrow height is fm =8 m.
Characteristic traffic load on the bridge track is 3kN/m2.
a) Assume that the hangers give evenly distributed forces to the cables. Calculate design forces ithe cables at the tower (A) and when fixed in the rock (B). Also calculate the angle of the cable at these points.
b) Information about the tower's geometry and material is given in the figures. Assume joint at foundation and seeaway from the weakening of the cross-section in the driving zone. Assume that the critical section with respect to buckling is 20m abovefoundation. What is the dimensioning normal force in this section also reaches the tower's self-weightis included? Assume a buckling shape and calculate slenderness and critical buckling load for the tower? Suggest measuresif necessary
