The unit costs are $8 per hour of labor, $0.50 per Oz of metal, and $0.75 per Oz of Glass. Also market conditions are such that it is not possible to sell more than 1000 type 1 frames, 2000 type 2 frames, 500 type 3 frames, and 1000 type 4 frames. Money does not want to have any leftover inventory. What should the company produce to maximize its profit this week? Identify Decision variables, Objective, constraints. Formulate as a LP. Solve using Solver. Finally clearly state what the optimal solution, optimal value are, paying attention to units. Not that the optimal solution may be such that one or more of the frames may not be made at all. That is fine, so long as it is feasible and maximizes profit. Hint: You are given the selling price per unit, as well as costs of materials and labor. You need to first calculate the profit margin per unit of each type. Make these calculations first, and then set up the Linear Programming problem. These calculations must be in your worksheet.
