Evidence-based decision-making from the perspective of a healthcare manager is critical for compliance, best practices, and the ability to make informed decisions. Additionally, the underlying tenet of integrative medicine is that evidence-based interventions from across appropriate disciplines should focus on the whole person, including a range of influences affecting health, while facilitating a relationship between practitioners and patients. (Wagner, 2021).

Evidence-based practice is the use of the best available evidence together with a clinician's expertise and a patient's values and preferences in making healthcare decisions, (ahrq.gov, 2018). Resources, tools, or processes for evidence-based decision-making include the implementation of process improvement strategies and sustainable outcomes. The health service staff need access to education, training, expertise, and support to enable evidence-based decision-making and to implement and evaluate the changes arising from those decisions, (Harris et al, 2017).

Moreover, the methods used by the SHARE program highlight the systems and processes, core principals, support services, stakeholders, and preconditions that encompass the ability to make evidence-based decisions.
