Please use MATLAB. I only need help with problem 2 and how to keep both parts on the same file.
Place all of the following problems into a single M-File. Make each of the problems below a
single cell in the M-File.
You won't be able to publish as pdf with the input or ginput command in the code. Create a live
script file for your solution and upload the .mlx file in Canvas.
1 Engineers use both English and SI (Systme International d'Units) units on a regular basis.
Some fields use primarily one or the other, but many combine the two systems. For
example, the rate of energy input to a steam power plant from burning fossil fuels is usually
measured in Btu/hour. However, the electricity produced by the same plant is usually
measured in joules/s (watts). Automobile engines, by contrast, are often rated in horsepower
or in ftlls.. Here are some conversion factors relating these different power measurements:
1kW=3412.14Btuh=737.56ftlbfs
1hp=550ftlbs?s=2544.5Btuh
a) Generate a table of conversions from kW to hp . The table should start at 0 kW and end at
15 kW .
i) Use the input function to let the user define the increment between table entries.
ii) Use disp and fprintf to create a table with a title, column headings, and appropriate
spacing.
b) Repeat part a using the table function.
2 At time t=0, when a rocket's engine shuts down, the rocket has reached an altitude of
500 m and is rising at a velocity of 125ms. At this point, gravity takes over. The height
of the rocket as a function of time is
h(t)=-9.82t2+125t+500 for t>0
Plot the height of the rocket from 0 to 30 seconds, and
i) Use the ginput function to
(1) estimate the maximum height the rocket reaches and
(2) the time when the rocket hits the ground.
ii) Use the disp command to report your results to the command window.
Sample answer:
The maximum height reached by the rocket is approximately meters
The time the rocket hits the ground is seconds
