An abortion facility, owned and operated by Cecile, recently opened in Rose's hometown of Columbia, where abortion is fully legal but where a large segment of the population is opposed to abortion. Rose organized a campaign of other concerned Columbia citizens in opposition to the facility. As part of the campaign, she prepared flyers protesting the opening of the facility. The flyers contained the statement, "Cecile murders babies!!!" They also contained the statement, "Cecile pressures women into unnecessary abortions!!!" Rose distributed the flyers throughout the town of Columbia. Rose has attempted to enter Cecile's facility to investigate Cecile's business practices, but Cecile has prevented her from doing so. However, she has interviewed a number of women who went to Cecile's facility unsure of what to do about their pregnancies, and a number of those women informed Rose that they believed Cecile was trying to pressure them into having an abortion. In response to Rose's actions, Cecile wrote an opinion article in the local Columbia newspaper. The article stated, "Anti-abortion activists like Rose are only pro-birth. They don't care what happens to a baby after it is born. In fact, they would be happy to see a newborn baby live a life of poverty and abuse by neglectful parents. They only oppose abortion so they can impose their religious beliefs on others!"
