Kira: | was really shocked to learn more about like the idea of a nonprofit hospitals like | always associated them as like ohh this is kind of a selfless act and we wouldn't expect to make money from a hospital because we're caring for people so | think between this class and like icon it's been really interesting to learn that like | don't know some people might choose to be a nonprofit because of the benefits that you get like not having to pay certain utilities and having like tax breaks like that might be the reason why someone is having a nonprofit and not because it's like what they believe in so that's a little bit it's jarring for me to hear and then | think in terms of this like discussion question um | think there's a greater priority put on hospitals and long term care because in the event that you know someone is trying to use private equity it would look more efficient and it are not more efficient but more profitable to | guess for lack of a better term flip a hospital or long term care facility supposed to like primary care so like if a hospital is really struggling and a private firm is able to buy that fix it and not really fix but like cut inefficiencies and make it more profitable that's going to be much more significant than like a primary care office where a person's just getting a routine back up or like a diagnostic test and the same thing with long term care because you have patients who are here for a long time as we Saw very expensive care very like something that's going to be a long term thing so | think it seems more profitable and it is more profitable than our grand scheme of things and the way that our society practices to flip those and therefore we put more emphasis on hospital and long term care than primary care
