Students will be able to analyze engineering functions and their impact on the health, wellbeing, and environment. The theme will facilitate students to gain a broader understanding of how to combine the approach of design for safety with the conduct duties placed upon them as the student engineers. Scenario: The worldwide shortage of semiconductor chips continues in 2022. Most semiconductor companies have their orders well booked for the next 2 years. You have just joined Singapore Semiconductor Pte Ltd as an Industrial Engineer. Your company has also embarked on an expansion plan to take advantage of the high demand for semiconductor integrated circuits (I.C. chips). Your manager has put you in charge of the whole project. As your management believes in the "do it right the first time approach and prioritize safety above everything else. They have asked you to put safety as the first priority in this project. Activity: With the approved project plan, it is time to complete the project and present your findings.
