Policies, Standards and Procedures
 The DBA must define, document, and communicate the policies, standards and
procedures, before they can be enforced. Give examples of policies, standards and
procedures defined by DBA to be used by all end users who want to benefit from the
database based on the following:
i. End-user database requirements gathering.
ii. Database design and modeling.
iii. Documentation and naming conventions.
iv. Design, coding, and testing of database application programs.
v. Database software selection.
vi. Database security and integrity.
vii. Database backup and recovery.
viii. Database maintenance and operation
ix. End-user training.
 Disaster management includes all of the DBA activities designed to secure data
availability following a physical disaster or a database integrity failure. Discuss the
backup and recovery measures.
