Post-Secondary Research Project (Total: 42 marks)

This course asks you to think and design your future. We have explored various careers, skills, and dreams that you hope to attain in future. This assignment asks you to research a post secondary option of your choice and relay the information.

TASK:Choose one Ontario post-secondary pathway (College/University/Apprenticeship) that you are interested in learning more about.

1. For your selection you are required to include the following in your report:

• The name, location and address and who to contact for information about the school (4 marks)

• 5 programs that the school offers (5 marks)

• Student services available (ie: counselling, etc.) (3 marks)

• 8 Extra-curricular activities (clubs and sports teams) (8 marks)

• Tuition fees and other costs (books, residence, meals) (5 marks)

• Availability of technology and library resources (3 marks)

• Choose one program that interests you and find out: (10 marks)
• the length of that program,
• the end result (diploma/degree/certificate),
• 5 career opportunities (jobs you could get after you graduate)
• Admission requirements (what high school courses are needed to get into that program)

4. Reflection (4 marks)

• Why does this program interest you?
• Why did you select this school to research?
• Based on what you know about the school now, discuss why you would or wouldn't consider attending this school.
