This is the place where you can highlight the skills you have developed and the impact you have made through various work experiences and extracurricular engagements that directly demonstrate your ability to do a job.

Remember that you will want your skills and experience to meet the needs of a prospective employer!

How do I write a Power Statement?

Example:

$$ Created fundraising campaign, organizing almost $200$ high school students to raise $$4,500$ to support camp scholarships for $5$ low$-$income Chicago youth.

$*$From this example, we can see that not only did the student create a fundraising campaign, but we know how many people they organized, how much money they raised, and how many people the money served.

Directions:

$1.$ Select three experiences or activities where you developed important professional skills like teamwork, communication, problem$-$solving etc. $($These could be part$-$time jobs, volunteer opportunities, club memberships, etc.$)$

$2.$ For each experience or position, create two $(2)$ power statements to illustrate what you achieved in that role. Follow the Action Verb $+$ Task$/$Detail $+$ Outcome$/$Measurable Data model. $($Note: On your actual resume, you will want at least three $(3)$ bullets for each listed entry$).$
