Preamble / Overview In preparation for the SCM 5505 - Integrated Project course, it is essential that students "hit-the-road-running" and can progress forward at the start of the second semester. Having an approach to address the "sponsor" is a first step towards success in this course. Students need to explain why they chose the industry and how they will use their network to source a Sponsor. Milestones should be completed by the start of the next semester. A partner doesn't need to be identified now, however; they need to have one at the start of the next semester. Their introduction should be detailed about who they are, what they are doing, and the effort required by the Sponsor. Instructions: Respond to the undermentioned five (5) questions:
Your Task:
a. Industry Sector: In what industry sector do you hope to find a sponsor? ( IT, Event Planning, Public Sector, etc.) Why? (Explain).
b. Professional Networks: Describe the professional networks you will use or have used to find a sponsor (LinkedIn, Supply Chain Management Organizations and Associations, Industry-Specific communities of practices, etc.) Describe your experience using these networks.
c. Search Timeline: Specifically: What date What date will you start searching for your sponsor? What key milestones / activities will you plan for during your search? What are your timelines for each milestone / activity? Include the date you plan to find your sponsor. (NLT).
d. Partner: Identify your team members? - (if you have one at this stage). If you do not have a partner or other team members, please out TBD. (To be determined). NOTE: Not have another team member(s) will not affect your grade.
e. Introduction Communication: This can be your elevator speech (20 Second Summary). Email or how you will reach out on LinkedIn. Consider this the pitch you will make in obtaining a Sponsor. What will the Sponsor need to know? (Example - the length of the commitment). Consider other key points in a clear and concise message.
