Assessment Students watch a chapter of the Netflix documentary Street Food Latinoamerica or they have to search for a similar documentary video in You Tube. Students prepare an oral presentation with pictures of their favorite street food comparing it with other ones using the taste and texture adjectives. Students will show oral presentations next class. The speaking will be graded by using a rubric focusing on pronunciation. Less guided Practice Put the students into groups and ask them to think of two street meals they would like to compare. Give them 10 minutes to write 10 different comparative statements using the adjectives previously taught. Independent Practice Have the students think of two street meals they want to compare. Have them write their comparative sentences individually. Guided Practice In order to teach the correct pronunciation, the teacher will spell to students a list of taste and texture adjectives taken from the video of street food. For this activity the students will be divided into pairs and teacher spells out the first word, for example S-P-I-C-Y. Ask the teams to confer on the correct pronunciation and to pick a spokesperson. Then ask each team's spokesperson to pronounce the word. Mark on a piece of paper if it's right or not. After each team has given its guess, allot points on the board to the teams that pronounced the word well. Continue with the next word but rotating the starting team. Model Hand out a model article of comparing street food and ask students to find out the comparative forms. Ask which type of comparative rule the adjective has.
