prepare an As-Is process map for an existing process that you are able to observe within your work or personal environment. Before you start using the software tool, sketch out the process on a sheet of paper and answer several key questions, including:

1. What is the name of this process?
2. When does this process start? What triggers the process?
3. When does this process end?
4. What is the output of the process? What does the process produce?
5. What are the major activities (steps) that are required to complete the process?
6. What are the decisions required along the way?
7. Are there alternative routes to reach the end of the process?

• Document your process using one of the software tools identified in this week's Learning Resources or an alternative tool to which you have access.
• To support the graphical depiction of your process, provide a narrative description of the steps and handoffs in the process, including the answers to the questions above.
