EAs corporate office is located downtown Ypsilanti. EA sells just about every make of vehicle there is. Lexus, BMW, Acura, Chevrolet, Ford, and Buick are just a few to name. The company has over 1,000 employees to serve people in Michigan like family and become #1 in customer services. EA has decided that it needs a better record-keeping database system that can be used to quickly process information about its employees. All employees at EA are well compensated and trained by the company with decent salaries and a variety of benefits. The EA Human Resource System (HRS) contains data on employees, departments, jobs, quality teams, and insurance and retirement benefit plans. For each employee, the following data is stored: ID, name, home address, home phone, and date hired. Some employees manage other employees and each employee has one supervisor. An employee is assigned to a department and no employee is in two departments. The departments are assigned unique numbers and the department name, address, and phone are recorded. Each employee has only one job; job data includes the job number, title, and the minimum and maximum salary for the job. All employees are also members of quality teams; an employee may serve on several teams, but they are not assigned to a team until they have been with the firm for six months. Team number, team name, and anticipated completion date are kept on each team. The date that an employee is assigned to a team is also recorded. Every employee is covered by one of the firms insurance plans; data on each insurance plan includes the plan number, the name of the company providing the coverage, an insurance coverage code, and the monthly cost. Each employee may choose to participate in one of the retirement plans; each retirement plan is identified by a number and has a descriptive name. In addition, the name of the company managing the plan is recorded, as are with the amount of the employee contribution and a matching fund to 10% of his/her salary by the firm.
