a. If 21 units of the end item are to be assembled, how many additional units of E are needed? (Hint: It will be easier to work through this if you redraw the BOM and add in the information on leadtime and how many units of each are in stock.)
b. An order for the end item is scheduled to be shipped at the start of week 15. What is the latest week that the order can be started and still be ready to ship on time? (Hint: Find the longest leadtime path in the product (also called cumulative leadtime) and then subtract it from 15.)
