Question: Problem 2 . Given a concrete beam ( b = 1 0 i n . ; h = 2 5 i n . ) with

Problem 2.
Given a concrete beam (b=10in.;h=25in.) with flexural reinforcement at the bottom, the transformed
moment of inertia is Itr=14,740in4, and the location of the neutral axis from top of the beam is ?bar(y)=13.2in.
Assuming an elastic behavior, what is the maximum tensile stress in the concrete (bottom face) when M=
50 kip-ft?
(I just re-did the math and got 5.76 followed the same steps but multiplied 11.8 by 12 in since it is 11.8 is in, in-ft,600 x 141.6 divided by 14740 equals 5.76. Anything will help or explaination to , thank you)
