Question: Problem 2 . The product is shown below in Fig 5 - 9 , its exploded drawing in Fig 5 - 1 0 , BOM

Problem 2. The product is shown below in Fig 5-9, its exploded drawing in Fig 5-10, BOM and part No.3's route sheet are also given below in the tables. Please use these information to calculate and fill up the table 2(just use part No.3's route sheet and assembly chart). Note: in table 2 the demand of hourly production of the six stations is 120, all six stations have the defective rate 0.05. Production rate is defined as # of parts/hr. No. of machines required=(Parts to be processed)/(Production Rate*Utilization Factor).

Bill of Materials
A bill of materials lists all of the parts used in the product along with their identifying numbers and the number of pieces of each item required for the product. The bill of materials for the paper punch is shown in Figure 5-11. This figure contains the basic information expected from a bill of materials. Other information such as the drawing number for each part, part cost, etc., can be added if desired. For instance in Figure 5-11 the parts to be purchased are identified. Standard forms for a bill of materials can be found in industrial engineering handbooks.
