frame. First$-$order analyses of the frame were performed for both the sway and the nonsway cases. The

factored loads and moments corresponding to one of the load combinations to be investigated are given

for this member in the following table:

Bending is about the X$-$axis, and all end moments are in the same direction. Assume that $\frac{P_{\text{s}\text{t}\text{o}\text{r}\text{y}}}{P_{\text{e}\text{s}\text{t}\text{o}\text{r}\text{y}}}$~~$\frac{P_{nt}}{P_{e1}}$

The effective length factors are $K_x=1\mathrm{.}2$ and $K_y=1.$ Using the LRFD method, and the requirements of the

effective length method to check if the member is satisfactory or not.
