a) MATLAB: Write me a live script that calculates the ln(1+x) for ?abs(x)1. The user should be prompted for "x", and "tol" using the input function and the script should check to see if ?abs(x) is 1 before proceeding. If its not, you should use "disp('hey x has to be less than 1')" or something to that effect, and then "STOP". Go ahead and calculate the result until term tol (use 0.0001) and x=0.5 and display actual answer (ln(1+x)), and the series answer, and the number of terms needed.
b) EXCEL: Do the same thing in Excel, but have the use enter x in some cell as well as tol. You don't have to automate your spreadsheet...just add rows until the value of the term is less than tol. (>75 I think) Also calculate the actual value of (ln(1+x))
