Problem 4(4 points): A full-depth spur gear mesh consists of a 21-tooth pinion driving a 28-tooth gear. Diametral pitch is 3, and pressure angle is 20 degrees.
Find pitch radii, base radii, outside circle radii, dedendum circle radii, base pitch, circular pitch, backlash, and face width.
Obtain the contact ratio for this gear design.
If center distance were increased by 5 mm , keeping number of teeth and the base circle radii the same as before, determine the new contact ratio. Note, you may end up with a non-standard pressure angle. You can continue with that value you obtained.
