Problem 4: Ethanol is commonly produced at industrial scale. Produced ethanol usually present with water and a separator is required to separate 85% of ethanol produced. The separator has two output streams leaving the unit; ethanol stream and residual water stream. Before being separated, portion of feed mixture is bypassed (withdrawn) and mixed with residual water stream that leave the separator. The feed stream is composed of 80% water and rest of ethanol, by weight and flows at a rate of 200 kg/hr.
