Question: Problem A steel ring of rectangular crass - secrion 1 5 1 8 m m is shrunk on a copper of 1 5 1 5

Problem
A steel ring of rectangular crass-secrion 1518mm is shrunk on a copper of 1515 mm cross-fection to form a composite ring of 30 mm radial depth and 300 mm radius. The shrinkage pressure created between the rings is 1 MPa . Calculate the stresses in steel and copper due to shrinking. If the composite ring rotates at 2000 rpm what will be the stresses in steel and copper. The densities of steel and copper respectively are 7800kgm3 and 8900kgm3 while their respective modulit of elasticity are 20010MPa and 10010MPa.
