concentrated live load, $P_{1\mathrm{.}6L}=f^{\text{k}\text{i}\text{p}},$ as shown in Fig. $2.$ The beam supports a $6"$ thick concrete

slab. The top flange of the beam is also laterally braced at points A and B$.$ If a W$18$x$60$ section

is used, check the adequacy of the beam $AB.$ You may assume full composite action.

Given, for reinforced concrete slab, $f^{\text{'}}{c}^{\text{'}}=4,000.$ Use $\frac{3}{4}$ diameter Nelson studs for the shear

transfer.
