concentrated live load, P1.6L=fkip, as shown in Fig. 2. The beam supports a 6" thick concrete
slab. The top flange of the beam is also laterally braced at points A and B. If a W18x60 section
is used, check the adequacy of the beam AB. You may assume full composite action.
Given, for reinforced concrete slab, f'c'=4,000. Use 34 diameter Nelson studs for the shear
transfer.
