Process Costing FIFO Method

The Redard Company adds direct materials at the beginning of the manufacturing process. On April 1, 30,000 units were in process. All direct materials had been added and they were 65 % complete as far as conversion costs. The cost of the beginning inventory consisted of direct materials of $3,300 and conversion costs of $1,320. During April 90,000 units were added at a material cost of $9,900. Conversion costs were $12,825. On April 30 there were 20,000 units in the ending inventory. All direct materials were added and they were 25% complete for conversion costs.
