The process I have chose to go with is "Full-team Involvement" , in which it should involves the entire team, not just production. With total employee involvement, all team members have the opportunity to help their organization grow, reach its objectives, and overcome obstacles. They are able to use more of their talents and intellect, along with feeling connected to other team members who are doing the same. As a result, you may end up looking for ways to optimize more business-centric processes, such as sales and marketing, to benefit the end consumer.
1. Explain why you picked that process.
I chose this process, because it encourages individual contributors, team members, and employees to participate much more in the problem solving, decision making and planning processes that affect their organization. Team members are encouraged to learn more about their organization, contribute ideas, feel more engaged, and look for new opportunities that will help the organization be more competitive and effective.
2. Explain the steps you might take to analyze how to improve the process.
The steps I will take towards improving the process includes; conducting interviews and short surveys that ask employees for specific opportunities and recommendations to improve the business, provide internal training that gives team members the skills to contribute more to organizational improvements and transformation, gather a steering committee team that find ways to get members involved and helps them contribute, and consult with the HR team towards helping contributors expand their responsibilities over time.
3. Who should be involved with you?
Each member of a team is responsible for the success of the team as a whole, such as HR, team leaders, supervisors, owners, and the employees. This is the interdependence that makes teams stronger than the sum of their parts. Working together towards specific tangible results is the best way to start creating mutual accountability.
4. What are some of the questions you should ask about the current process?
What can we do to improve our products and process?
If you were managers, how would you do things differently?
Which of our current processes is the most in need of an update? Are there any of our processes that should be retired?
Are there any totally new and wild ideas any of you have for new products?
How important is company culture for everyone when it comes to doing their jobs?
How much time can we dedicate per month to team bonding and maintaining human connections?
Does anyone want to pitch in on further developing and/or implementing some of these ideas?
5. How will you know if the process was actually improved?
Collect and analyze the data associated with the new process to see if it shows improvement. I will use a system to track start and end dates for the process, and gather quantitative data around our milestones, and also encourage collaborators to add qualitative data, commenting on how it's going and propose new ideas if needed. Compare the performance of the new process against the goals I set in the previous step to know when the process is complete. While, encouraging employees to think about and suggest process improvements regularly, as well as encourage collaboration across departments, so opportunities are more easily identified and discussed.
