Please note that this evening Cordelia was involved in an incident in the program where unfortunately she was seriously injured. While in a physical altercation with another youth Cordelia was stabbed in the face which resulted in a significant injury to her face. Cordelia was transported via ambulance to the emergency room where she was evaluated and treated for a significant laceration to her face. I was able to speak to Cordelia right after the incident as well as several hours after initially she was very heightened rightfully so, after several hours she was able to exhibit calmness and verbalize that she was feeling much better than when the incident occured. Please note that ensuring her sense of safety is a priority therefore we will ensure that she is not in the same home with the youth who attacked her tonight. Tomorrow our internal team will meet to discuss a safety plan moving forward. Either myself or Sahara will be in touch with further details.
