Progressive discipline is a system that is in place to help employees improve their performance in the company by bringing up the company standards. One of the steps is an oral warning which is an informal two way conversation. This is used to figure out what the issue is and how the employee can become better to meet the standards. The next step is a written warning in which is a formal meeting between employee and manager. The report states the problem, a plan of action, and deadline for when these results should be achieved. The third step is probation in which an employee has a specific time to consistently meet standards in order to continue employment. These steps are all ways to try and make an employee better and affective in the company to keep it successful.
