Pretend that you are the CEO or Human Resources officer of a company that has been experiencing some trouble. You are free to use your imagination on exactly what happened with the company, but whatever it was, you have come to the sad decision that you will have to get rid of some employees in order to keep the business afloat. You must let your employees know that you will be facing these layoffs, often called a Reduction of Forces. Be sure to use the principles of delivering bad news as outlined in the book as you let your employees know what is going to happen, when, and how additional information will be sent. You will also want to consider whether you will offer a severance package
