Project #2 - This project is due by Sunday April 2nd by 11:59pm Find a recent (within the last year) news article involving fraud. First, summarize the fraud story (20 points) - who. what, when, where, why, and how? Then discuss the following: How are the three elements of the fraud triangle - pressure, opportunity, and rationalization present in the fraud committed? (15 points) Why do you think the person or people who committed the fraud think they could get away with it? (10 points) What internal controls could have been in place to help prevent the fraud from happening? Make sure to reference a least 3 areas of the COSO internal control framework and discuss how those areas could have helped prevent the fraud. (25 points) Did the punishment match the crime? (10 points) What are you overall feelings after having read and analyzed the fraud story? (10 points) Formatting (10 points) Narratives should be submitted in typed format Times New Roman 12 point font Double spaced Make sure to copy paste the above questions in your document and answer each question Check your spelling! No handwritten documents will be accepted. Your summary and analysis should be a minimum of two pages. Make sure to cite the fraud article you select or include a copy of the fraud article along with your submission.
