Project -7:
A core with three legs is shown in Figure P-7. Its depth is 10 cm and there are 1550 turns on the leftmost leg and supplied with 5 A current. The relative permeability of the core can be assumed to be 3540 and constant. Assume a \(5\%\) increase in effective area of air due to fringing effect.
a. Find the total reluctance \(\Re \) of the core.
b. What is the flux in the left leg of the core, centre of the core and right leg of the core?
c. Develop a Simulink model to investigate the number of coils turned in the magnetic core.
- Simulate the effect of varying the number of turns in the coil on the flux in the core. Keep the current constant and increase the number of turns from 1550 to 2000.
- Plot how the flux changes in each section of the core as the number of coils turns increases.
